OptiFine is a mod that helps improve the graphics of Minecraft and boost FPS.

How it works: The installation of OptiFine changes Minecraft’s render engine to use OpenGL, so you’ll need to have an up-to-date version of Java installed (.net 4.0 or higher).

1.   Download and install OptiFine for your OS.

2.   Run Minecraft and go to “Options/Video Settings”. Make sure that you’re running the latest version of Java .

3.  Turn on all the features you’d like to use in the mod, tick Dynamic Lights, Shadows, Connected Textures (CTM), Smooth Biomes, and so on.

4.  Enjoy smoother gameplay!

5.  Follow these steps to use OptiFine for Java SE/JDK7/JDK8/JavaFX 2 – Windows , or follow these steps if you’re on Mac OS X 10, or Linux.

Minecraft is an awesome game. How awesome, you ask? One of the biggest YouTube channels for gamers on the planet is called “Sky Does Minecraft.” That should be more than enough proof that this game is AWESOME! However, even though it’s awesome- there are some moments when you might want to do something like fly or jump extra high or something else- and that’s where OptiFine comes into play.

Now, you might be thinking: How can a little program for a video game make the game itself better? Well, I’m going to tell you! However, in order to do so- it might be best if I explained what OptiFine actually does.

So, basically the main idea is that OptiFine makes Minecraft run faster. How? By giving Minecraft more ram- which is supposed to make the game dramatically smoother. To be honest, I haven’t seen a huge difference in smoothness when using this mod with my computer’s hardware specs- BUT! I’m running it on Macbook Air, which has a relatively low-end graphics card.

However, for those who do have PCs and more powerful computers- this certain mod can make your Minecraft run much faster than usual. How so? Well, it’s hard to explain without actually doing it myself: but basically, there are tons of different settings you can change within the program to make Minecraft display differently- and the result is a smoother Minecraft experience.

Things That Optifine Can Do

1. FPS boost

2. Variable Render Distance

3. Smart Advanced OpenGL

4. Visual Effect Settings

5. Custom Details Settings (still buggy)

6. Natural Textures (option to use full resolution textures)

7. Configurable Smooth Lighting (performance impact only)

Having said that, let’s get on with how you can get OptiFine! How? Well, there are three ways to get it:

How You Can Get OptiFine?

1) Go to the official OptiFine download page from here . This is where you’re going to find all of the information related to OptiFine.
